The tech world was sent into a whirlwind yesterday, March 2, 2026, by Apple’s Spring Event. We are looking at two new devices that have far exceeded expectations: the iPhone 17e, which redefines the concept of an affordable smartphone, and the new iPad Air M4, which challenges "Pro" models with its hardware. By placing AI integration at the heart of these next-gen devices, Apple is delivering on its promise of "getting more for less."

But are these two devices truly worth the hype? Let’s dive into the details.

iPhone 17e: A Flagship in Budget Clothing

Apple's "e" series (or the SE series as we all know it) has typically involved pairing updated processors with older designs. However, the iPhone 17e changes the game entirely, bringing a flagship experience to a much more accessible format.

A19 Chip and 8 GB RAM: AI in Your Pocket

While the classic notch remains on the design front, the power beneath the hood is truly impressive. The iPhone 17e is powered directly by Apple's next-generation A19 chip. Furthermore, to ensure the seamless operation of the Apple Intelligence ecosystem, Apple has equipped the device with 8 GB of RAM. This means that even with an entry-level iPhone, you can fully utilize the most advanced AI features and smart assistant capabilities of iOS 26. Additionally, hardware-accelerated ray tracing promises a peerless visual feast for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

A New Era for Storage and the 48 MP Fusion Camera

Apple is officially retiring the 128 GB era, offering the iPhone 17e with a 256 GB starting capacity. This is a massive advantage, especially for those producing high-resolution media. On the camera side, we see a single lens on the back, but it is far from ordinary. The 48 MP Fusion camera allows for lossless 2x optical-quality zoom. Plus, with support for 4K Dolby Vision video recording, you’re essentially carrying a mini cinema camera in your pocket.

In-House Modem and the Return of MagSafe

A giant leap has also been taken in connectivity. Apple’s new in-house C1X 5G modem offers cellular data speeds up to twice as fast as the previous generation. Moreover, in a first for this series, 15W MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging support have been added. Seeing these features in a price-performance-oriented device is genuinely satisfying.

iPad Air M4: "Air" in Name, "Pro" in Spirit

Now for the other star of the show. The new iPad Air retains the "Air" moniker only in terms of its thinness and weight; in terms of hardware, it has evolved into a true heavyweight champion.

Performance Leap with the M4 Chip

Apple completely skipped the M3 for this lineup, jumping straight to the M4 chip. This move makes the new Air up to 2.3 times faster than previous M1 models. The combination of an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU turns this tablet into a flawless workstation for everything from school projects to 3D design and graphics-heavy gaming. The 11-inch and 13-inch Liquid Retina display options elevate the visual experience to a whole new level.

12 GB RAM Surprise: A Revolution for Multitasking and AI

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the event was the RAM capacity of the iPad Air M4. To maximize AI capabilities and future-proof the device, the RAM has been increased from 8 GB to a whopping 12 GB. This move, which shifts the balance in the tablet market, represents immense fluidity for professionals, video editors, and digital artists running multiple heavy applications simultaneously. The new interface of iPadOS 26 runs perfectly on this hardware.

Next-Gen Connectivity: N1 Chip and Landscape Camera

Another detail that directly affects the user experience is the camera placement. Finally, the front camera has been moved to a landscape orientation, just like on the Pro models. Now, you will appear at a much more natural angle during video calls when using keyboard cases. On the connectivity side, Apple’s new N1 wireless chip takes the stage. Supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 technologies, this chip provides lag-free and ultra-fast data transfer.

With this spring event, Apple has not only updated its product range but also redefined the standards for "accessible technology." While the iPhone 17e makes a high-end phone experience possible for everyone, the iPad Air M4 succeeds in fitting the performance of professional computers into a razor-thin chassis. Furthermore, pre-orders for both devices open on March 4 in Turkey, and they will take their place on the shelves as of March 11. A truly exciting period is beginning for technology enthusiasts.
