DJI, aiming to make a strong entry into the 360-degree camera market, has officially introduced its first 360-degree camera, Osmo 360. Osmo 360 stands out with its advanced imaging technologies, innovative sensor structure, and assertiveness in 360-degree content production. Positioned as a direct rival to models like Insta360 X5 and the soon-to-be-released GoPro Max 2, this new model targets both professional users and content creators.
DJI Introduced Its New Action Camera Osmo 360
Opening a new chapter in DJI’s action camera series, Osmo 360 stands out as one of the most comprehensive imaging devices the brand has developed to date. Osmo 360 is equipped with a 1-inch square HDR sensor. Thanks to this sensor structure, the device can capture high-resolution images and process color dynamics in detail.
Weighing only 183 grams, this compact camera is also ideal in terms of portability for vloggers. According to DJI, despite its powerful hardware, the device also stands out in the action camera market with its lightness and durability.
Features and Price of the Camera
The fact that Osmo 360 is in direct competition with the features offered by Insta360 X5 makes the device even more attractive. Osmo 360, capable of recording video in 8K resolution, offers users the opportunity to create cinematic content with up to 4x slow-motion video support. With HDR support, image stabilization technologies (HorizonSteady and RockSteady), and 10-bit color profile, video quality is taken to the next level.
The device’s battery has a capacity of 1,950 mAh. Thanks to this, it can record continuously for up to 100 minutes in 8K resolution at 30 FPS. Additionally, the device comes with 105 GB of internal storage.
As for pricing, DJI Osmo 360’s European price has been set at 480 Euros. The Adventure Combo package, which includes more equipment, will be sold for 629 Euros. Although there is no exact release date for the US market yet, it will be available for pre-order through various distributors.
DJI Osmo 360 Can Record 8K 50 FPS Video Continuously for 100 Minutes
In terms of video quality, DJI Osmo 360 is considered the most powerful action camera the brand has developed to date. In 4K and single-lens mode, Osmo 360 can go up to 120 FPS, while in 360-degree mode, it can record 8K at 50 FPS. Compared to the Insta360 X5, which offers a 30 FPS limit despite its $590 price tag, this is a significant advantage.
As DJI’s first product capable of capturing 360-degree video and photos, the camera also produces images at 120 megapixels on the photography side. Thus, it becomes possible to produce both professional video recordings and high-resolution stills.
With this model, DJI emphasizes not only its hardware power but also its software flexibility. Through the new DJI Mimo app, images can be edited, shared, and social-media-ready content can be quickly created.
